GAB Neumann GmbH sets the course for a long-term successful future

- GAB Neumann announces its acquisition by Mersen.
- The acquisition by Mersen accelerates and strengthens GAB Neumann's strategy of expanding its product and service portfolio as well as its ongoing internationalization.
- GAB Neumann's existing management and its entire team in Maulburg, Germany will continue to run and expand its business.

Mersen, with its Advanced Materials Segment, is the world's leading supplier of process equipment and systems for highly-corrosive applications in the chemical industry. Mersen has production, service, and sales facilities in all major markets worldwide thus ensuring proximity to its customers.

The acquisition by Mersen is an important step in the implementation of GAB Neumann's strategy: Mersen product and material technologies will accelerate the expansion of GAB Neumann's product portfolio. GAB Neumann will also be granted access to Mersen's extensive process engineering know-how. Thanks to Mersen's global footprint, worldwide operating customers' requirements in terms of reactivity and customer proximity can also be met.

GAB Neumann will become Mersen Group's competence center for the annular-groove technology and silicon carbide heat exchangers. GAB Neumann, its team in Maulburg, and its existing sales network, will be entirely in charge of the graphite and SiC equipment as well as systems business with customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The transaction, which is subject to the approval of the German Antitrust Authorities, is expected to be finalized by early 2020.
